No Joke! Our Mascot Has its Own Holiday
Not only is today, Feb. 19, our Grand Poobah’s birthday (happy birthday, Gary!), it’s also Rubber Chicken Day. That’s right, our mascot has its own holiday!
š But the story behind it is a twist of fate! Let’s strut down memory lane.
š During a photo shoot for one of our earliest catalogs, a rubber chicken was accidentally left on a crash cart. No one noticed it during production, and soon after curious customers started asking, “What’s up with the rubber chicken?”
š With no real story to tell, we decided to wing it — and our mascot was hatched!
Today, HCL® rubber chickens are practically celebrities! They pop up in ads, surprise customers in shipments and have even inspired their own line of merchandise.
