Service Spotlight - Teresa Irvin
Today, we celebrate International Account Manager Teresa Irvin and her outstanding milestone — 20 years of employment! Here’s what she shared in response to our fast break questions:
Q: Looking back, what has been the most defining moment of your HCL® journey?
A: I honestly cannot say that there is only one defining moment over the past 20 years. I have been given many opportunities and explored many different avenues, each with the support needed to succeed in them.
I will say though, if I must pick a moment, a specific memory, it would be attending my first HCL® banquet. It was so nicely prepared; everything was charming, until Gary Sharpe was throwing a rubber chicken at me (as part of the traditional banquet rubber chicken toss)! No one can prepare you for that in your work career, and I still chuckle when it comes to mind. What a wonderful 20 years!
Q: What career goal would you like to achieve in the next five years?
A: I hope to stay here for many years to come. I cannot see me just taking it easy because I’m almost a senior š. I am currently taking Curry Blake’s course and am thinking about a part-time retirement career in animal massage therapy.
Q: What’s a hobby or passion outside of work that brings you joy?
A: Spending time with my family is my biggest joy in life! I am learning the ins and outs of container gardening. Painting, which I didn’t know I could do until Covid boredom hit, is another one of my hobbies. I enjoy most anything outside, and I dabble in carpentry. Yes, I have a lot of Tim-the-Tool-Man blood in me!
